Small Business Saturday Book Signing
Saturday, November 26, 2:00 to 3:00 pm
Book Larder, 4252 Fremont Ave. N, Seattle
Always happy to return to Book Larder, Seattle’s beloved hangout for cookbook lovers. There will be other authors and activities during the day, but pop in for that hour starting at 2:00 if you’d like me to personalize a copy of Crab for you, or Oysters, or Salty Snacks, maybe even Gourmet Game Night! A few fun options to choose from, whether for gift-giving or simply inspiration for upcoming entertaining!

Oyster Happy Hour Book Signing
Thursday, December 1, 3:00 to 5:00 pm
Flying Fish Oyster Bar, 2340 NE Sandy Blvd., Portland
My second favorite city in the Northwest, always a treat to get back to Portland. I’ll be joining Lyf Gildersleeve and his team at their new-ish oyster bar in the coo. Providore Fine Foods marketplace. They serve up oyster happy hour every weekday afternoon, I’ll be joining the fun this one day with copies of Oysters and Crab in hand to sign and sell. Between slurps, of course.

Crab Cooking Class
Friday, December 2, 6:00 to 9:00 pm
Cook’s Pots & Tabletops, Eugene, OR
$95
What a pleasure it will be to return to Cook’s Pots & Tabletops, what a great crowd there for my Oysters class earlier this year. This evening will feature techniques and recipes from my new Crab cookbook, out just in time for the holidays and the big winter season for Dungeness crab. The following day, I’ll be at the store from 11:00 to 2:00 to sign books, a casual drop-in option.

Cookbook Social
Monday December 5, 4:30 to 7:30 pm
Palace Ballroom, 2100 5th Avenue, Seattle
$15
It’s been such a pleasure to be part of many of the cookbook socials leading up to this 10th Anniversary version! I’ll be there with Crab and Oysters in hand, along with many wonderful cookbook authors from the area. The vibe is always fun, lots of great cookbook samples to nibble on and an outstanding way to scratch a number of gifts off your holiday shopping list! Hope to see you there.

Crab and Oysters Book Signing/Open House
Saturday, December 10, 4:00 to 6:00 pm
Marine Area 7, 2814 E Madison Street, Seattle
Free
This is a special event indeed, because the host is the very talented Jim Henkens who did the photography for both of these books. They are as visually luscious and compelling as they are thanks to his talent! There will be a nibble or two from the books, Hama Hama Oysters in the house, plus time to peruse the cool new and vintage linens, serving pieces, cooking tools and other gems in Jim’s shop just in time for the holidays.

Crab Cooking Class
Tuesday, December 13, 6:00 to 8:00 pm
Hot Stove Society, 2000 4th Avenue, Seattle
$100
I’m very happy to be making a return visit to Seattle’s cool urban cooking school, Hot Stove Society. All about crab, of course, including tales of some of my adventures with crab and background on how to buy and store them, all the essentials. The demo will include an aromatic crab broth with wontons, rosemary roasted crab and indulgent crab cakes. Just the kind of elegant evening to treat yourself to at the holidays, not to mention going home with a book full of recipes.

Other events on tap include a book signing at Omnivore Books in San Francisco. Details on that and more events to come soon.
